Replace Boiler One

Design Build Project in conjunction with H B Rueter Engineering and Thotpro Engineering.

One of Ft. Greely's three central steam heat producing boilers, dating from the 1950's, was replaced with two smaller and more efficient boilers. In the summer months only one of the smaller boilers is needed which reduces running costs considerably.

The project was designed and then implemented in four separate phases.

Phase One involved proof of concept layout of the new boiler in the existing space, and design of the new overhead door which would facilitate the demolition and removal of the old boiler as well as allowing entry for the new boilers.

Phase Two described the demolition process and temporary piping to enable the other boilers to continue operating.

Phase Three covered permanent mechanical, electrical & structural systems.

Phase Four outlined the control and SCADA systems
